The reason for their
frustration is that they no longer have the power to humiliate and
discriminate.
Albeit most gays still carry vestiges of a couple of
thousand years of abuse and belittling from their societies, religions and
family; the PRIDE movement has changed the nomenclature. No longer are these
religious fanatics allowed to use local, state and federal government to carry
out their agenda of hatred and discrimination. Therein lies all of their
frustration: that a secular government is no longer complicit in placing a seal
of approval on these religious fanatics’ obsession with being homophobic.
In view of the recent
decision a couple of days ago that PROPOSITION 8 was indeed unconstitutional,
these assholes are foaming at the mouth, expressing all kinds of disagreements and
spewing yet more hate. Their argument has been blown out of the water by reason
and logic, not some faith-based conviction that has no proven, factual reality.
Gays do not represent
a threat to society or to marriage, on the contrary, with the absence of
discrimination and oppression, gay people in America will function to enhance
society and even the institution of marriage that the heterosexuals have
managed to weaken and fail in 50% of the cases…will fare better when gay
couples are also included in a legal definition of a loving relationship
awarding them the full rights others enjoy…and I understand there are over
1,100 of these rights that are routinely and arbitrarily denied gay Americans.
On the other hand, gays do represent a threat to these
extremist religious fanatics because they now see that their tactics, hatred,
discrimination and misguided erroneous interpretations of the Scriptures are
not working any more to dupe the general population.
We are gay, we are here, get
over it…Eleanor Roosevelt said: “nobody can humiliate you without your consent”
and we are not consenting to humiliation any longer.

I love agree. I don't know why the government is in the marriage business in the first place. This should be handled by private parties via contract.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog. I added it to my blogroll at fuckworker.blogspot.com can you add a reciprocal link?
Thanks!
By the same token I don't believe our rights should be determined on the ballot or voted on. Fuck that shit! 70% of the people between the ages of 18-34 belive we should have marriage equity! When the old farts die off it's inevitable!
