DID YOU KNOW IT WAS BLACK HISTORY MONTH?

Some of us forget

Pictured In The Collage: (clockwise)
Michael K. Williams: played the gay drug dealer Omar in "The Wire" (2002-2008)
E. Patrick Johnson: author of "Sweet Tea: Growing Up Black and Gay In The South"
Monique: pop entertainer who said: "Imagine if in all the black churches they started saying: let's love each other unconditionally. Let's not judge."
Bayard Rustin: aide to Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. and organizer of the March on Washington
E. Lynn Harris: author of ten novels dealing with being black and gay and an autobiography
John Amaechi: NBA and first professional basketball player to come out as gay
George Washington Carver: educator, scientist,
Darryl Stephens and Jensen Atwood: actors who played gay lovers Noah and Wade in "Noah's Arc," the groundbreaking all-Black Logo TV series (2005-2006)
RuPaul: drag queen diva, entertainer, entrepreneur

As much as we are in tune with black culture and our unrelenting love and admiration for black men, some of us ignore the celebration of BLACK HISTORY during the month of February. I for one had forgotten about it until I ran into it in the fine blog DQN IN NORTHERN VIRGINIA (http://dqninnorthernvirginia.blogspot.com/)
This is a blog worth visiting.
