There are some things you will never convince me and the great majority of Americans to believe.
One:
That Bush won the 2000 elections without the hanky panky in Florida.
Gore won the popular vote and also would have won Florida if they had
not stopped counting. The parade between South Florida and
Tallahassee carrying the ballots and the “hanging chards” debacle was
truly an embarrassment. Then the asshole at the Supreme Court gave his
one vote. So Bush really won by ONE FUCKING VOTE!
TWO: That water-boarding is not torture
THREE: That President Bush
didn’t mislead Americans and the world knowing full well there was
absolutely no valid reason to go to war with Iraq. No weapons of mass
destruction were found and the faulty information was tailor made to fit
the needs of the war hawks. Sadly thousands of lives have been lost,
both for our brave men and women in the military and for Iraqi
casualties. It has also cost us a bundle from our treasury or I should
say from the Chinese and others who loan us money.
FOUR: That
the wealthy and the corporations who hold and control most of the wealth
create jobs. They don’t and they hoard the money instead.
SIX: That the Tea Bag party
was and is a GRASSROOTS movement. It was funded and promoted by
billionaires of the radical right persuasion following an askew ideology
that was a left over from the McCarthy and John Birch Society era.
SEVEN: That the Republican
Party has the best interests of the American people in mind. They are
only the paid agents of the wealthy and the corporations and will act
according to
what
is good for them. I am not convinced that they don’t want to worsen the
unemployment problem so that our President looks bad and is not
re-elected.
what
is good for them. I am not convinced that they don’t want to worsen the
unemployment problem so that our President looks bad and is not
re-elected.
EIGHT: That the Republican
Party and the Teahadists are not xenophobic, racist and homophobic. They
are also anti-women and religious fanatics panderers.
NINE: That President Obama
was born outside of the United States, that he is secretly a Muslim,
that he is a SOCIALIST-COMMUNIST-MARXIST.
TEN: That the Republican
Party will respect that precious contract we elderly Americans made with
our country while we paid into Social Security in order to have just
one sliver of security in our old age. The Republicans want to do away
with Social Security altogether, as well as Medicare and Medic aid.
ELEVEN: That
insurance companies are in the risk business. They are in the profit
making business and will deny health care and claims any way they can.
They don’t produce anything, manufacture a product or even provide us
with a useful service; they exist as the middle man to skim off the
profits like the true parasites they are.
TWELFE: That the United
States is a Christian nation. It is not, the Founding Fathers were
particularly specific in delineating a separation of church and state.
We are a secular, participatory democracy (?)
THIRTEEN: That corporations are people.
FOURTEEN:
That thirteen year olds should be cleaning toilets and replacing
bread-winning janitors. That child labor is not immoral and that if you
don’t have a job it is your fault.
FIFTEEN:
That government is too big or that government is the problem.
Government is as big as it needs to be for a country that is the number
one power in the world and government doesn’t work very well when it is
in the hands of Republicans.
SIXTEEN: That the
Republicans are NOT trying to disenfranchise millions of voters and rig the
elections therefore usurping the Constitution and doing their most
egregious attacks on the democratic process by denying Americans the
right to vote.
For these and many other reasons, which include the vitriolic nature of
their rants, the hatred and division the Republicans have caused, the
prospect of the continuation of racism and discrimination on the basis
of race, sexual orientation or creed that I can’t consciously place my
ballot in the same column as any Republican…not ever, not in a million
fucking years!

My 92 y/o Dad watches Fox religiously and believes all the lies they tell there. It's nothing more than a mouthpiece for the GOP.
ReplyDeleteI realize that MSNBC is the same for the Democrats but at least I'm aware of it and they don't seem to lie and spin things as much there. The Teabaggers are against anything that involves government and are willing to bring down everything that is even in their own best interest. I'll never understand the logic in that.
I've never been a big fan of politics because politicians lie most of the time, however, when we have some politicians that stand true to their word and actually put for the effort the GOP shits on them and act like they're satan. i really see no separation of church and state, especially when it comes down to gay marriage.
