CHE GUEVARA AND WHAT HE MEANS TO ME

MOST PEOPLE ARE IGNORANT OF HIS PROCLIVITY FOR CRUELTY

Back in the ancient history days when I attended college; there were quite a few of my peers who had posters of Che Guevara hung in their dorm rooms. This image has been imprinted in the minds of many left-wing Americans as a symbol of a struggle…that of the downtrodden against the oppressors.

But having been in Cuba during that crucial period of time, I knew better. That is why when I think of Che Guevara I think of the very person who took great pleasure in administering the coup de grace into the heads of men who had just been gunned down by a firing squad. It was clear to me, and to many of us Cubans that this was a man without scruples who was vindictive and morbidly cruel; to Guevara, human life was worthless unless that life was dedicated to the spread of Marxism and chaos.

The curious thing is that those same revolutionaries who took over Cuba didn’t have any alternative solutions or proposed any positive changes…only the total destruction of the political and social system. This social experiment has proven to be disastrous for the Cuban people…sending more than 11% of the population into exile and rendering misery and total despair for those left behind.

When I see these Tea Baggers acting like they have to “TAKE AMERICA BACK” or saying: “THEY ARE TAKING AWAY MY AMERICA” I can’t help but think of those days in Cuba when the insurgent-terrorists were saying precisely the same things and doing similar things.
