THIS TIME WE CAN BLAME THE MEDIA

THEY PREDICTED THAT ALL INCUMBENTS WOULD BE DEFEATED

This time I am going to take the same road Sarah Palin takes and blame the media. You see, they are so desperate to sensationalize what they perceived to be a trend and it did not materialize. The media was so hungry for drama, for some weird effect in the voters that they made a mountain out of a mole hill.

We saw in recent primaries that there were no significant changes to back up that claim. If you really think about it, that trend the media predicted has only materialized in a couple of the races: one because he changed parties (Specter) and the other one because of some bizarre turn of events in which the ultra-right wing took over the process of nominating a candidate (in Utah).

The only one candidate that seemed to have profited from this whole Tea Gag Bag movement was Rand Paul but his glory came abruptly to an end less than 24 hours after his primary victory when he put his foot, then his whole leg into his mouth in an interview with Rachel Maddow.

So, if you are a Liberal Progressive, relax, the Republican Party by not repudiating all these wing-nuts and radicals are causing their own demise. Come election time in November, all these predictions of incumbents not getting re-elected and all the projected gains by Republicans is not going to materialize.

The Republican brand has now added extra baggage as well. They have by their own choice identified themselves as friendly to big oil. In an apology and a previous designation of the term "shakedown" of BP by President Obama not many Americans are happy that they apologize for an oil spill that should not have to go through painful and endless litigation for the injured parties to get compensation. That is where Republicans have blundered big time.

What most people don’t really take into consideration is that the majority of the American population is somewhere in the middle…not where I am on the left nor where the Tea-baggers are on the right. That should say something.

What does bother me is that our President has not yet taken some actions that are way overdue. In issues like overturn DADT or on the BP oil disaster, he has maintained an alarming hands off stance. When he should be telling the homophobes that their days of discrimination in the military are over and with BP our President should be taking over the whole ball of wax to guarantee that they are going to pay for all the damages. This can only be accomplished by a temporary seizure of the assets and the operation of the company; not just 20 billion of pacifier funds...the oil companies are too rich and they can afford it...BP oil is not going to be any different than Exxon or skip the long litigation that is coming down the road. The 20 billion is but a drop in the bucket for them and they were the ones who proposed it, they are not only ok with it but did so willingly. For the Republicans to come out and say that this is an arm bending tactic similar to the Nazis is ludicrous.
