SECRET PLAN TO WIN IN NOVEMBER?

IT IS NO SECRET AND REPUBLICANS ARE DESPERATE

Yeah, baby, how’s that no incumbents reelected, the economy and no jobs workin’ out for ya?

What Republicans seem to forget, and they have a very short memory, is that we are in the mess we are because of their failed policies, an incompetent President and a pervasive obstructionist way of operating in Congress…Do they really think that the voters do not see they have voted NO on everything in order to deny the President and the Democrats any kind of effective legislation?

There is also one thing that they are not taking into consideration although they have been warned time and time again; it is that the majority of the American people are somewhere in the middle and the Republicans have been pandering and bending over backwards to appeal to a very narrow, not numerous ultra right conservative base. By doing this they are not only turning off middle of the road folks from both parties but also moderate Republicans. In some cases these moderates have been pushed out of the party and thrown under the bus by the Tea Party element.

Newsmax sent this today:

“Democrats Have Secret Plan for November

Political analysts are predicting a huge win for Republicans in November's congressional elections, but some Democrats believe they have a secret plan to stave off a crushing Republican landslide.

That’s the analysis from Newsweek magazine’s Andrew Romano, who writes that “the Democrats in charge are actually rather confident about getting their fellow Dems elected this year. The reason? They have a plan — a plan that they believe will produce much better results on Election Day than anyone expects.”

The first element of that plan is the return of Obama’s former campaign manager David Plouffe, who left politics after Obama’s election win. At the president’s request, he is now communicating on a regular basis with the Democratic National Committee on campaign strategy.

Plouffe’s top priority is to get many of the 15 million people who voted for the first time in 2008, and largely supported Obama, back to the polls this year. His main weapon is the 13-million-name e-mail list from the Obama campaign now available to the DNC.

The focus on individual elections for Democrats will be “keep it local,” according to Romano. “While Republicans hammer away at national themes targeted at right-wing activists, Democrats plan to focus on bread-and-butter regional concerns like jobs.”

Democrats also believe that the emergence of tea party challengers in GOP primaries will help their candidates attract moderate voters. A tea party candidate who wins the primary will drive moderates toward the Democrat in the general election, the thinking goes, and a tea partyer who loses will likely have forced the winning Republican to move further to the right and possibly alienate moderate voters.

Back in 1994, Democrats were unprepared for the GOP onslaught that captured both the Senate and the House, but that won’t happen in 2010, observes Romano, who concludes, “This year, careful planning, internal GOP conflict, an improving economic climate, and yet-to-be-introduced technologies have the potential to limit Democratic losses to less-than-catastrophic proportions.”

I think that people are getting a little bit worn out and tired with the lies and exagerations: that Obama wasn't born in America, that he is a Socialist/Marxist/Communist, death panels, taking over the private corporations, etc, etc. If he was a Socialist/Marxist; don't you think he would have already taken over Wall Street and the banks instead of going along with the Bush bail out? This bail out is SOCIALISM, it is a welfare program for the banks and the super rich. Also, if he was a Socialist would he not have insisted in running the automobile manufacturers? And if he was so communist, how come he hasn't confiscated BP, Exxon and Shell? Or put another way...if he was a Socialist then how come he didn't support a PUBLIC OPTION with the Health Care Legislation?

Of course it doesn’t help the Republicans at all that their leader and spokesman is Rush Limbaugh and the mouthpiece for sound bites is Sarah Palin. Most people realize this but the Republicans are still insisting on supporting these two instead of repudiating them. That is fine with us, let them, the Republicans don’t realize how close they are to becoming totally irrelevant. Keep pandering to the Teabaggers with their racist, Bircher overtones and you will see how far you are going to get come next November.

  1. I haven't noticed much GOP crowing after this last election day. Things didn't quite turn out like they expected, what with the big name unelectable candidates being nominated in their party.

On a side note, John Boehner made a pretty awful appearance on This Week this morning. He seems deflated and just going through the motions.

  2. Never in Canadian history have we ever had to deal with such brain dead folks as those who think that Obama is synomonous with socialism and communism. It's down "right" scary! I fear there's little hope for a nation that might elect Sarah Plain to be president. It's strange to see people acting like fools while carrying signs that prove that they definitely are brain dead hillbillys fresh from the Ozarks!
