Chavez and Bush - Alike in so many ways

Uncanny similarities between Hugo Chavez and George W. Bush

I don’t think many people have given this much thought or even put two and two together; but I have. I see an uncanny similarity between these two buffoons.

Both heads of their nations, they lack a certain dignity, a Presidential quality that once a man of character and moral fortitude almost instantaneously acquires the moment they assume the office of President. I never saw this quality in Bush and I don’t see it in Chavez.

They both have driven their country to new levels of financial chaos and ruin.

Both men are there by the misguided will of the people. One usurped power by altering elections the other just ignored elections.

Chavez often tries to appear as if he is “one of the people” by displaying rather crass and uncultured traits. So did Bush.

Both men are incompetent and can’t run a small municipality let alone a country.

Both try very hard to be funny, often clowning around and hoping to gain validation with their corny antics which are in turn applauded by their yes-men around them.

Both believe themselves to be natural born leaders, when in reality all they are trying to do is gain validation for some very big egos. They both feed on admiration and they both have an excess of vanity.

They are both very poor public speakers, erudition is not among one of their talents.

They both are intellectually not curious, not really interested in learning anything else. They seem to think that they know enough and don’t need any further knowledge.

They reject any kind of intellectual endeavor, often are finding contempt for intellectuals calling them elitists and extremist ideologues.

They both blame their failures on other things. Bush blames everything on terrorism and 9/11. Chavez blames the drop of the price of oil and the weather anomalies Venezuela has been suffering, like extreme drought that has some reservoirs dry. But in a country where oil is abundant, that should not be a problem, just like in America, in a country with so much wealth, nobody should go hungry, homeless or without health insurance.

Lastly, they both have a very loyal and vocal group of followers. These are usually very ignorant and uninformed people in both cases.
