Am I missing something here?

Is it just me or am I ignorant?

Do I miss some kind of evidence that the conservatives and Republicans see as legitimate to justify their ideology? Do the Republicans even know that by even suggesting that President Obama is on some secret quest to turn this country into a Socialist paradise they are hurting themselves?

With the President speaking clearly when he met with Republicans recently he said it best: “you would think that I have some Bolshevik agenda to turn America into a socialist dictatorship” (paraphrasing here) and it so not true, it could not even get near what President Obama really is. He is, if you allow me to give an opinion; a center left pragmatic leader. He does not want to destroy big business nor does he want to have the government run our lives or the corporations. He demonstrated this when he could have easily confiscated the banks and taken over the auto industry. He chose not to and he would have been more than justified to do so.

When you call President Obama a radical liberal you are just repeating a crazy notion, a talking point that comes directly out of the mouths of Beck or Limbaugh. Fox News makes their money out of duping people and by instilling fear and insecurity in the lives of those who are least educated and not well informed. Yet in a new poll it was revealed that 79% of Republicans think that Obama is a Socialist! Imagine that, when there are people like me who think he is too centrist and not progressive enough.

Some 23% of Republicans have indicated to the same poll that President Obama should be IMPEACHED! Impeached for what, I ask you? When President Bush had arguably what is clearly over 35 different impeachable offenses, where were these people?

Yes, President Obama has let them off the hook easily. Perhaps they can’t be impeached after the fact, after all they are out of office, but they can certainly be prosecuted for the crimes they committed. President Obama could just hand them over to an International Tribunal at The Hague and let them be tried. He is not going to do that of course, but then Cheney should shut the fuck up.

Some of these folks go out to voice their frustrations with the government and their feeling of helplessness makes them “useful idiots” that will go and interrupt legitimate Town Hall meetings and deprive other Americans for the need to hold meaningful dialogue with their elected officials. These people don’t see that and they embrace falsely the premise of free speech. But one can’t help but wonder where they were when President Bush gave tax cuts to the rich, eliminated regulations that send us on an economic spin, got us into a war that mounted the public debt and even lied to get us into it.

I can’t help but ask if any of these people actually own any stock in either insurance companies or pharmaceuticals. Why are they doing this if they are either middle class or poor? The rich don’t care if they decimate the middle class and trample on the poor as long as they are able to keep their wealth and even make more. One good example of why Trickle Down Economics does not work is the bank bail outs. We saw how the general public had to come to their rescue to save them from financial ruin and what did they do? They did not use those funds to extend loans to small business and to allow this money to Trickle Down into the economy. Instead, they hoarded it, speculated with it, purchased other assets with it and gave their executives obscene bonuses. That is why I say that Trickle Down is BS.
