comment from one of my readers

I received this e-mail from one of my followers:

“I wish I were in a position to broadcast the fact that Scott Brown's friends have his ads on a gay web site. I will assume you didn't know. Scott Brown is a rabid homophobe running for senator from Massachusetts. He'll probably win, since outsiders have been pouring money into the state for the past month.
However, there's no excuse for you to feature his ads on your web site.
You've lost me.”

I wrote him my answer to explain that I had no control over what Google places in the ad section. This section provides negligible revenue for me and I would just take it off and disable it but as one of my blogger friends experienced when they placed an ad advertising Sarah Palin’s book and he got so angry he disabled the feature, then Google followed by taking his blog out. He is still down and they will not give him any reasons.

I am very surprised that Google hasn’t closed my blog yet. I am expecting it any time.

Please bear with me as I can’t have any control over what that den of homophobes does as I can readily substantiate with this entry way back in November. They even have gone to the extent of excluding the ad in question when you look it up. But here it is:

How desperate are Republicans?

Just take a look at the ad they have placed in my blog. Imagine they are so desperate to silence any dissenting voices that they would actually place an ad in a rather insignificant and humble blog with very limited readership.

  1. As long as you have that Warning Adult Content page up, Google should not (unless they change their policy) delete your blog.

  2. I wonder how ad's get chosen for particular blogs. Are they targeted by some arcane algorithm? Certainly there isn't someone in a cube somewhere making the connections.
