I think this comment from one of my readers is worth discussing:

I agree wholeheartedly Marc. I refrain from calling these right wing pundits morons or stupid because I know they are not. These are people with plenty of education, but they use it for the purpose of enriching themselves. That is also a sign that they are smart. Perhaps they lack the sensitivity and compassion to be progressives so they cling to some conservative ideology.

Rush, Beck, Hannity, O’Reilly, Coulter and others are laughing all the way to the bank. Oh, I’m almost sure that they know that some of the shit they spew is unfounded, not true, and exaggeration or even without facts to back it up. That is when they become assholes, because they know they are using false information to remain relevant; they do this so that they can be outrageous because outrageous makes them controversial and controversial brings them untold riches.
